The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. today at Parker Park and the Soldotna Senior Citizens Center on West Park Avenue.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by fire engine. Children can have their pictures taken with Santa for $1. Other activities will include free sleigh rides, the Skyview High School Swing choir singing Christmas carols and refreshments. Mayor Dave Carey will preside as master of ceremonies.

Area residents interested in making an ornament to help decorate the park and city buildings should drop it off at the chamber office or at city hall by noon today. For more information, call 262-3566.
