Christmas activities planned

Grace Lutheran Church and School will host learn the true meaning of Christmas activities beginning at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Some of the planned activities are making Christmas cards, learning Christmas carols, decorating cookies, a hot dog lunch, holiday games and a children’s Christmas concert at 1 p.m. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. For more information, call Pastor Tom Schmidt at 283-6297 or Laura Ganshow at 398-9548.

Cantata choir practice

The Peninsula Grace Brethren Church Christmas Cantata Choir practices are held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday through Dec. 17 at the church. Cantata performances will be held Dec. 17 and 18 at the church. Interested community members can preview music at www.wordmusic.com/-Christmas and then by clicking on “Come Let US Adore Him.”

Choir members will be required to pay $10 to help cover the cost of music and the accompaniment DVD. For more information, call Dan Thornton at 262-6442.

Matrix Christmas services set

Matrix Church will conduct it’s annual Christmas service at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Peninsula Christian Center. The service will include special Christmas music by the puppet team, the Christmas story by Kermit and dramas. There will be give-a-ways and contests. For more information, call 262-7416.

Good News hosts Christmas parties

Good News Clubs will host Christmas parties for the December after-school programs at Mountain View Elementary, Soldotna Elementary, Redoubt Elementary, Cook Inlet Academy and Aurora Borealis Charter School on Tuesday immediately following the school.

Parties will include Bible stories, songs, games, refreshments and memory verses which tell the true meaning of Christmas. Students in grades K-6 are eligible to attend. They will need to bring a signed permission slip and parents need to arrange for transportation.

Clubs are held every month on the second Tuesday, except for Kalifornsky Beach Elementary, which is held on the second Thursday of each month. At Aurora Borealis Charter School Child Evangelism Fellowship offers a Youth Connection Bible study for students in grades five through eight. For more information, call 262-4850 or 262-2685.

Christmas programs planned

The Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ Church, Sunday school department will hold the following activities in celebration of the birth of Jesus:

· “The Baby King” at 7 p.m. Wednesday performed by children ages infant through 12. The Hearts A’ Fire and Children choir groups will sing. Refreshments will be served;

·Birthday party for Jesus at 7 p.m. Dec. 21; and

·Praise and worship service at 2 p.m. Dec. 25. Special music selections and the AAJC Choir will perform the cantata “The Way He Came.” A special Christmas message will follow. Transportation is available. For more information, call 262-9693 or 262-4469.

Christmas music set to entertain

The Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna will host an evening of Christmas music at 7 p.m. Dec. 16 at the church. Music will be provided by area musicians, soloists, ensembles, the church’s bell choir, Central Peninsula Youth and Community Orchestra, The Redoubt Chamber Orchestra and the Victorian Carolers. A cookie reception will follow. The cost of admission is $10 at the door. Children ages 12 and under will be admitted free. Proceeds will be donated to the Kenai Peninsula Orchestra. Country Christmas concert slated

The North Kenai Chapel will host Dennis Agajanian and his group at 7 p.m. Dec.16 at the church at Mile 29 on the Kenai Spur Highway. An offering will be taken. For more information, call Pastor Wayne Coggins at 252-2036.

Christmas services, dessert set

Peninsula Grace will host the following Christmas activities at the church at Mile 19.5 Kalifornsky Beach Road.

·Christmas dessert and choir concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 17 and 18. Seating is auditorium style with desserts served during intermission. The choir will present “Come Let Us Adore Him” and other seasonal specials;

·Christmas Eve services from 7 to 11 p.m. Services will feature a multi-media choir presentation and singing of Christmas carols. It will also will take its annual offering to benefit those in need though the church and Love INC; and

·There will be no Christmas Day services.

Candle light services slated

First Baptist Church in Soldotna will hold a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 6:30 p.m. The church also will host a birthday brunch for Jesus at 9:30 a.m. Christmas Day followed by a children’s program at 11 a.m. For more information, call 262-4304.
