Soldotna resident Marcella Crabtree Dove died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Heritage Place in Soldotna. She was 90.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Place.
Mrs. Dove was born Dec. 8, 1911, in Culebra in the Panama Canal Zone. She was a graduate of the University of Washington in Seattle. She also served honorably in the Women's Army Corps during World War II. She worked for the FBI after the war, and for various legal firms, until retiring from Black Clausen in Washington state in 1978.
Mrs. Dove moved to Alaska in 1981 and was the first resident of Laurel Wood Arms. She resided there for more than 15 years.
She was a member of the Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ Church in Soldotna. She also enjoyed horseback riding and gardening.
"She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a friend to all and a sweet soul," her family said.
Mrs. Dove is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John "Skip" and Beverly Dove; granddaughter and her husband, Johnna and Donald Vinzant; grandson, Jim Dove; and great-grandchildren, John Michael Vinzant, Adam Blade Vinzant and Shelby Marcella Vinzant, all of Soldotna.
Memorial donations may be sent to Heritage Place for resident services, 232 Rockwell Ave., Soldotna, AK 99669.
