The second Wednesday of the month is board game day. Chad Sorenson and Steve Hacket will host an afternoon of fun. There will be board games for all ages. Children must be accompanied by a parent. This activity is designed for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

The information packet for this year's IDEA Science Fair is available at the IDEA Kenai field office. This year's science fair has four age group entry categories: kindergarten and first grade; second through fifth grade; sixth through eighth grade; and ninth through 12th grade. Student registration for the science fair is open until Jan. 9. Fairs will be held March 2 for the Seward area, March 9 for the Homer area and March 16 for the Kenai-Soldotna area. Battle of the Books materials are available for checkout. Battles start Jan. 8 and end Jan. 15.

Booklets for the national spelling bee are available in the office. The local bee will be Jan. 16 at the office. Sign up by e-mailing
