Volunteers, businesses deserve praise for Christmas event

Posted: Friday, December 10, 2004

On behalf of the Kenai Chamber of Commerce and myself, I would like to thank everyone for helping us make this magical community event, Christmas Comes to Kenai, a marvelous success. Not only does it take heaps of volunteers but the Kenai Police Department, Kenai Fire Department, Kenai Maintenance Department and the City of Kenai without their complete and total cooperation it would never happen. To the Kenai Senior Center, McDonalds, Safeway, Peterkin Distributors, Kambe Theatre, Summit Cleaners and the Victorian Carolers: a big thank you.

Volunteers, volunteers they are the hard-working ones behind the scenes! Nancy Kufel, Nelson Amen, Leroy Heinrich and grandsons; Barry Eldridge; Anita Necessary; Laurie Bookey; Angela Peterkin; Karen and Rick Cupp; Penny Furnish; Kristine Holdridge; Moran Moeglien; Girl Scout Troop 50; Girl Scout Troop 221; Trish Thompson and Leitha Smith; and Dr. Zirul for starting the fireworks thank you!

Last but not least, the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center for allowing us to come in from the cold and Lisa Strother for manning the center all day long, thank you.

Christmas comes to Kenai but once a year, so we'll see you next year!
