Holiday schedules needed

Deadline for central peninsula churches wishing to submit listings for holiday and Christmas services is 3 p.m. Dec. 21. Listings can be submitted by fax to 283-3299, e-mailed to or brought by the Clarion office in Kenai. For more information, call Nan at 283-7551 ext. 262.

Edgerly to lead Love INC

Ingrid Edgerly was recently named as the executive director of Love INC. Edgerly will begin her new position Jan. 1. She currently serves on its board of directors. For more information, call 283-5252.

Addictions group forming

Reformers Unanimous, a national Christ-centered addictions program is forming a chapter in Kenai. It will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Fridays at the Immanuel Baptist Church. Also being offered is "Kids RU," a children's program that teaches children of Reformers Unanimous participants how to avoid addictions.

Garage sale fund-raiser set

There will be a community garage sale from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Sears Elementary School. Proceeds will benefit Love INC.

Craft, bake sale planned

St. Francis by the Sea will hold a craft bazaar and bake sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the church at 110 Spruce St. A variety of baked goods and crafts will be available.

Women's prayer group to meet

Nikiski Aglow offers women Christian fellowship, prayer and Bible study every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to noon at North Star Methodist Church, Mile 25.5 of the Kenai Spur Highway.

This Hope to perform

The five member male group This Hope will perform a capella and accompanied music selections at 7 p.m. today at New Life Assembly of God in Kenai, 6 p.m. Saturday at the College Heights Baptist Church at 44440 Kalifornsky Beach Road and at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at the Soldotna Bible Chapel.

The group has sung professionally since 1996 and have travel throughout the United States and overseas. They are all graduates of Soldotna High School.

Christmas party, concert planned

The Grace Lutheran Church and school will present "Christmas for Kids" from 9:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Saturday at the church one block off Kalifornsky Beach Road on Ciechanski. Children ages 3 through sixth grade are eligible. Hand-made ornaments, Christmas carols, cookie decorating, a hot dog lunch and a 15 minute concert for parents are some of the planned activities.

Hanukkah party set

The MoAdim Messianic Fellowship will hold a Hanukkah party at 12:30 p.m. Saturday. There will be food and the telling of the story behind Hanukkah. For more information, call 283-5621.

Matrix Christmas service Sunday

The Matrix Church will hold its Christmas service at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Peninsula Christian Center. The service is designed for adults with children. The program will include "Finding Sponge Bob," a Christmas drama, special music and gifts. After church, food bags will be available as well as three gas cards.

Christmas concert scheduled

North Kenai Chapel will host a free country Christmas concert featuring Dennis Agajanian at 7 p.m. Dec. 17 at the church at Mile 29 Kenai Spur Highway. Agajanian will share an evening of "down home" Christmas music. It is open to the public. A free will offering will be taken. For information, call Pastor Coggins at 776-8797.
