My hero is my wife, Deb Blizzard. Not only is she a wonderful wife and mother, but she also is a great asset to the community. She is a nurse who works in the emergency department at the hospital. That in itself would make her a hero, but she does so much more. She also does E.N.C.A.R.E., which goes around to peninsula schools talking to our children about the consequences of drinking and driving, and how they can avoid such dangers. She also is involved with safe kids, volunteering her time to check child car seats for anyone with a car seat. She also is a SANE nurse, assisting people who have been sexually assaulted and making the peninsula a safe place for all of us.
And if all this was not enough, she now has created a program for children and adults teaching them about a terrible drug called GHB. She made the program to assist us all in recognizing and avoiding this drug.
She not only is a hero to me, but to the entire Kenai Peninsula, a hero keeping our kids safe and making this a wonderful place to live.
We thank you Deb.
