Postal Service urges resident to send early

With a high volume of cards, letters and packages expected during the holiday season, the United States Postal Service is advising customers to mail early.

Nationally, Postal Service customers will bring 20 billion mail pieces to post offices during the holiday season, which ends Dec. 31. Customers can help speed post office transactions, officials say, by providing clerks with full information on packages, such as requirements for insurance, delivery confirmation and desired time for package arrival.
