The Economic Development District of the Kenai Peninsula held it's second annual open house last week. During the well attended event, Randy Daly, President of the EDD Board of Directors took the occasion to announce the Board's selection of Jim Carter, former finance manager, to become the person to take over as executive director when Betsy Arbelovsky leaves.
"I'm very proud to have been the chosen one. In the next ten days we'll be talking about the transition plan and working things out for me to become the next executive director," said Carter at the open house. "Filling Betsy's shoes is going to be a big challenge. She set the course, and surrounded herself with good talent and a very active board of directors. It's a little premature to speak about all the details, but we're going to continue the same philosophy and enthusiasm that Betsy has engrained in us, and that will lead to the same type of successes," added Carter.
