Power has been restored to residents whose electricity was disrupted by heavy, wet snow earlier this week, according to a Homer Electric Association press release.
A snow storm Tuesday and Wednesday led to outages caused by snow-laden branches hitting power lines, the press release said. HEA crews began responding to outages between Soldotna and Sterling on Tuesday evening. By Wednesday afternoon, all but about 200 residents had power restored, and the remaining customers received electricity about 3:45 a.m. Thursday.
More outages were reported early Thursday morning between Lakeshore Drive and Shady Lane, though power was restored by about 8 a.m.
Anyone currently without power is asked to call the nearest HEA office at 283-5831 in Kenai, (907) 235-8551 in Homer, or toll-free at (800) 478-8551.
