Benefit garage sale set

A garage sale to benefit Love INC will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday at the Sears Elementary School gymnasium.

Donations are being accepted by the Kenai Fellowship Church at Mile 8.5 of the Kenai Spur Highway. People should call 283-7682 or Mark at 394-1555 to schedule an appointment for a drop off.

Children's program featured

The 6 p.m. Sunday service of Abundant Life Assembly of God in Sterling will feature a children's Christmas program and at the 11 a.m. service, Pastor Bob Reasner will share thoughts on "How He Came."

Bluegrass Christmas service planned

Bluegrass musicians from around the Kenai Peninsula will gather Sunday to pick, grin and play a little Christmas music at an evening bluegrass service.

Guitars, mandolins, fiddles, banjos and singers will share old favorites.

Anyone is invited to come enjoy the worship and the music.

The service will be at 6:30 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church at the "Y" in Soldotna.

Matrix plans Christmas service

Matrix Church will conduct a special Christmas service Sunday featuring, Three Wise Elvis, the Candy Cane Story and the introduction of the Pheobe puppet from "Friends."

The special music will include "Why Can't We Be Friends" and "Hotel Can't-Afford-You" (what-a-lovely-place).

Matrix also will have special gifts and prizes along with an Advent story.

The one-hour service is designed for kids, young adults, single parents, families and grandparents with grandchildren. Food will be available after the 4:30 p.m. service.

Matrix is in the Peninsula Christian Center building behind The Salvation Army Store on the Kenai Spur Highway in Soldotna.

Christmas Eve services planned

Peninsula Grace Church will conduct Christmas Eve services at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.

The earlier service will feature the Children's Choir presenting the Christmas story and favorite Christmas carols.

The second service will be a candlelight service featuring the Youth Choir presenting "City on a Hill Christmas."

Dessert will be served at both services. Peninsula Grace is at Mile 19.5 of Kalifornsky Beach Road. The community is invited.
