The Cook Inlet Academy boys rallied for 22 points in the fourth quarter to beat visiting Nikiski, 60-50, at CIA on Tuesday in non-conference basketball action. Led by 18 points each from Scott Litchfield (eight rebounds) and Shane Moffis, the Eagles fell behind by one entering the final frame before making the strong run. Garyn Munn chipped in 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Eagles. Justin Wik and Evan Holloway led the Bulldogs (0-2) with 16 and 14 points, respectively, while Brando Wik added 11 points.
Nikiski girls 40, CIA 32
Samantha Rorrison scored 11 points and Tasha Thompson added 10 in leading the visiting Bulldogs to their first win of the season.
Knotted at 14 after the first quarter, Nikiski (1-1) outscored CIA 17-13 over the next two quarters and eventually sealed the win with a nine-point fourth while limiting the Eagles to just five. Brooke Forsi paced CIA with 12 points while Amie Smithwick added eight, including a pair of treys.
