Kenai boys take out ACS

The Kenai Central boys basketball team received 20 points from AJ Hull in a nonconference victory over host Anchorage Christian Schools on Saturday.

Kardinals coach Ken Felchle said his team did not play very well in the first half and trailed by 11. He said his squad picked up the defensive intensity in the second half to get back into the game.

Bo Reilly had 15 points, while Shane Spalding had 13, Colton Hayes had nine and Lincoln Wensley had four.

Kenai was playing without Tyler Spalding, who will be out until after the Christmas break with an ankle injury.

CIA boys 61, Nikiski 51

Matthew Moffis had 23 points and David Rorschach added 20 as the Eagles started their season with a nonconference victory over the visiting Bulldogs. Cody Munn added 10 points for the Eagles.

For Nikiski, Lucas Herrin pumped in 18 points, while Stefan Krogseng had 14 points.

Nikiski girls 47, CIA 31

The visiting Bulldogs received 27 points from Makenzie Moore to defeat the Eagles in nonconference play on Saturday. Moore hit seven 3-pointers. Angie Parish added 10 points for the Bulldogs. For the Eagles, Tiana McGahan had 11 points.

Seward boys 77, Homer 39

Keenan Prochazka poured in 30 points as the Seahawks notched a nonconference victory over the visiting Mariners on Saturday.

Prochazka drained eight 3-pointers. Andrew Buchanan added 18 points for Seward, while Michael Thorn had 10 points. Dyllan Day paced Homer with eight points.

Seward girls 54, Homer 12

Meg Berry had 16 points, Emily Draper had 13 points and Tessa Adelmann had 12 points as the host Seahawks notched a nonconference victory over the Mariners on Saturday.
