Sterling resident Ronald Lee Yandell died, Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, in Anchorage of complications from heart surgery. He was 64.
Mr. Yandell was born Jan. 1, 1943, in San Francisco. He was a logger in Oregon and Alaska. He received an associates degree in Forestry in 1988.
"Ron was an accomplished artist and musician. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in Southeast Alaska and at his home on the Kenai Peninsula. Ron will be forever missed," his family said.
Mr. Yandell was preceded in death by his father, Edward Yandell of Oregon; first wife, Lesta Yandell of Oregon; and second wife, Nancy Yandell of Kenai.
He is survived by his mother, Gladys Yandell of Reedsport, Ore.; brothers, Lloyd Yandell of Eugene, Ore., and Dale Yandell of Reedsport; sister, Gladys "Sis" Yandell of Eugene; sons, Brian Yandell of Sterling and Tim Yandell and his wife, Michele, of Hoonah; stepdaughter, Sonya of Ketchikan; stepson, Jake of Anchorage; grandchildren, Zach Yandell of Sterling, Josh Yandell of Oregon, Jake, Hank and Lindsey Yandell of Hoonah and Cody and Theresa of Soldotna; and other family members from Anchorage to California.
Arrangements were made by Witzleben Family Funeral Homes in Anchorage.
