Frontier Community Services to hold open house

Frontier Community Services will hold an open house from 11 to 6 p.m. today at the Red Diamond Center. Santa will be available for pictures from 1 to 4 p.m. Hot apple cider, treats and holiday carols are some of the planned activities. For more information, call Vickie Tinker at 262-6331.

Boys and Girls club plan fine arts exhibit

The Boys and Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula annual fine arts exhibit will begin in the evening today and run through Wednesday at the Peninsula Center Mall in Soldotna. Artwork from the Nikiski, Kenai and Soldotna clubs will be on display. There will be a reception at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the mall. The public is invited. AARP to discuss elder abuse

The local chapter of the AARP will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Kenai Senior Citizens Center. The topic of discussion will be the rights of older citizens, and abuse and prevention of abuse for older citizens. Lunch will be served prior to the meeting. Help for home day-care providers available

Home day-care providers who live in the central Kenai Peninsula area could qualify to be reimbursed for part of the cost of food served. For more information, call the Child Care Food Program at 283-4707.

Church to hold concert

The Peninsula Grace Brethren Church will hold a concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at the church on Kalifornsky Beach Road. Rock Bottom will play. Admission is $7 or $5 with a food donation. All food collected will go to the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank.
