Addictions group meets

Reformers Unanimous, a Christ-centered addictions program, meets at 7 p.m. Fridays at Immanuel Baptist Church. For more information, call 283-9361.

Holiday concert set to entertain

A holiday concert will be held at 7 p.m. today at Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna. It will consist of a variety of music featuring the Redoubt Chamber Orchestra as well as other groups and soloists. The cost of admission is $10 per person, children 12 and under are admitted free. Tickets are available at the door. Proceeds will benefit the Kenai Peninsula Orchestra scholarship fund. For more information, call Tammy Vollom-Matturro at 283-0781.

Clothes available for needy

First Baptist Church’s clothes closet offers clothing for those in need from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays in the garage at 119 Little St., off Binkley in Soldotna. On Saturdays with bad weather, the clothes closet will be open by appointment only. To make an appointment, call 260-4806.

Kids’ night out planned

Lighthouse Community Church hosts Kids’ Night Out from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sundays. Van rides are available. Children in grades kindergarten through six are eligible to attend. For more information, call 776-8234 or 252-4454.

Christmas service Sunday

A children’s Christmas service, “Emmanuel, God with us,” will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at Star of the North Lutheran Church, 216 North Forest Drive in Kenai. A potluck will follow the service. It is open to the public.

Youth program set

North Star United Methodist Church will present a children and youth Christmas program, “On Our Way to Bethlehem,” at 6 p.m. Sunday. Refreshments and a bonfire will follow the program. For more information, call Laura Skiba at 776-8732

Kenai Aglow meets at 7 p.m. Mondays at The Salvation Army Church on Forest Drive in Kenai.

Shaping your life class offered

Christ Lutheran Church is offering “Lifeshapes and Transforming Truths” classes Tuesday mornings and evenings and Wednesday evenings.

Various shapes are used as guides for learning, growth, purpose, peace and prayer and improving busy lifestyles. An introduction class begins in January. For more information and class times, call Randy at 262-4757.

Clothes Quarters is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 225 S. Spruce St. in Kenai.

Christmas eve service set

The Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ will celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with a Christmas Eve Service at 2 p.m. Dec. 24. Specially prepared music including a cantata, “The Way He Came”, will be featured. It is open to the public. For more information or to arrange transportation, call 262-9693.

Aglow to begin Bible study

Soldotna Day Aglow will start a Beth Moore video presentation Bible study titled “Believing God” on Jan. 3.

Classes begin at 10 a.m. Wednesdays in the Peninsula Christian Center at the corner of Cohoe Avenue and Farnsworth Boulevard in Soldotna. Participants are invited to come at 9:30 a.m. for fellowship and a coffee drawing.

In this study Moore explores what it means to know and truly believe in God by drawing from the “Heroes of Faith” in Hebrews 11 and examining the lives of Abraham, Moses and others who believed. Through their examples, women are encouraged to deepen their own trust in God and receive a fresh word from him.

Church adds a preschool

Immanuel Baptist Church, home of Wings Christian Academy will extend its ministry to include preschool. Enrollment for children ages 3 and 4 is being accepted for next semester. Preschool will begin Jan. 3. For information, call 283-9361.
