Help for future builders

Posted: Wednesday, December 15, 2010

The Career and Technical Department of the Kenai Peninsula School District would like to say thank you to Adam White at United Rentals for donating one of the company's forklifts to our construction academy project.

The construction academies are designed to prepare students for the workforce after graduation. Our students are currently constructing a 24 X 40 classroom portable that will be used by the borough after completion. The students had to get a 40-foot truss on top of the portable structure. Thanks to Chad Sproul for arranging the donation and operating the forklift. The job was a lot easier and safer to do. Chad was also able to teach the students how to operate the forklift.

We are grateful for the willingness of our local businesses to donate to our academy programs.

Thank you!

Debbie Pearson; Construction Education Foundation Coordinator, Kenai Peninsula School District
