ANCHORAGE (AP) -- The superintendent at Denali National Park and Preserve has been chosen as the new superintendent of Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.
Steve Martin will assume his new position in February.
Martin has been superintendent at Denali since 1994. He has been with the National Park Service for 26 years.
Martin first came to Alaska nine years ago to serve as superintendent of Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve.
Martin said he has enjoyed working with the Alaska Congressional delegation, state government, Native corporations and the local governments around Denali.
He said the future of Denali is bright, with new visitor and educational facilities in the works.
