Community Schools

The winter program catalog for Homer Community School will be mailed to residents, the Homer Public Library and area businesses in Homer and Anchor Point on Thursday or Friday.

Homer Community School also is offering several new classes that are not listed in the catalog, including the following:

Wilderness First Aid -- How to handle outdoor emergencies, injuries and rescues in the back country. The class will meet from 1 to 6 p.m. Jan. 11. The cost is $20.

Tarot Symbology for Personal Growth and Transformation -- Learn to use and understand the symbolism of tarot as a tool for personal growth and transformation. The class will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays from Feb. 6 to 27. The cost is $50.

Chinese Essence Qigong -- Learn the art of developing internal energy and directing this energy to balance and enhance natural healing resources in the body. The class meets from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Tuesdays from Jan. 14 to Feb. 18. The cost is $60, plus a text book.
