The Kenai Peninsula Hockey Association Squirt B team won the South Central Alaska Hockey Association Thanksgiving Tournament on Thanksgiving weekend in Anchorage.
KPHA started the tournament with a 7-2 loss to the North Stars, then came back with a 7-0 win against the South Central Wolves. In the third game, KPHA fell behind the Anchorage Bulldogs 3-0 after one period, but came back to score one goal in the second period and three goals in the third period for a 4-3 win.
In the fourth game, KPHA won 4-3 over Mat-Su in a shootout. After three shooters, KPHA trailed 2-1 as KPHA’s Jake Eubank was the only one able to notch a goal. KPHA goalie Cody Harvey stopped the final two Mat-Su bids, while Jacob O’Lena and Noah Carter scored goals to give the victory to KPHA.
KPHA then finished up the championship with a 4-2 win over the Blue Devils.
