Kenai student earns degree
Veronika Kadochnikova, of Kenai, graduated from the DeVry Institute of Technology in Kansas City in February with a bachelor's degree in telecommunications management. Kadochnikova has secured a job as a network operations specialist and currently works for Sprint.
Skyview grad finishes basic training
Army Pvt. Angeliqu S. Himmel has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Himmel is the daughter of Colette and the stepdaughter of Ronald Brister of Sterling.
She is a 2001 graduate of Skyview High School.
During the nine weeks of training, Himmel received instruction and practice in drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, physical fitness, basic first aid and Army values, principles and traditions.
Area optometrists participate in vision program
Dennis Swarner, OD, and Robert O'Connell, OD, both of Kenai, will participate in the Vision USA program, which provides free eye exams to qualified low-income, uninsured workers and their families.
