Progress reports, evaluations and second quarter sample are due no later than Jan. 15. Contact your teacher with any questions.

The third Wednesday of the month is a scrapbooking afternoon. Bring your scrapbooking supplies, projects and activities. This activity day is organized by Tracy Culbert and Shirley Johnsrud.

The IDEA office will be closed Dec. 25 and 26 and Jan. 1 and 2.

Information packets for this year's annual 2003-04 IDEA Science Fair are available at the IDEA Kenai Field Office. This year's annual Science Fair has four age group entry categories: Kindergarten and first grade; second through fifth grade; sixth through eighth grade; and ninth through 12th grade. Student registration is open until Jan. 9. Science fairs will be held March 2 in Seward; March 9 in Homer; and March 16 in the Kenai-Soldotna area. Steve Hackett is the science fair coordinator. Battle of the Books materials are available for checkout. Battles start Jan. 8 and end Jan. 15.

National Spelling Bee booklets are available in the office. Region K's Spelling Bee is set for Feb. 12 at the office. Sign up by e-mailing

An Alyeska ski trip is set for Jan. 16. This is open to all IDEA families. Contact the office for additional information and packets. More information will be available on K-News.
