Soldotna resident Sandra “Sandy” Suzanne Dodson died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at Fern Ridge TLC Assisted Living near Homer. She was 64.
Her ashes will be laid to rest in her father’s grave in Yakima, Wash., at a later date.
Ms. Dodson was born Nov. 30, 1942, in Yakima. She moved to Alaska in 1998 and lived in Soldotna. She worked as a fruit picker and nursing home aide in Washington.
“She was a great cook, loved gardening, fishing, snowshoeing, flowers, beading and having fun with her dog, Tara. Sandy touched many people’s lives with her kindness and love. She will be greatly missed by dear friends and the ones that loved her, “ her friend said.
Ms. Dodson was preceded in death by her parents and brother.
She is survived by close friends, Beth Odom of Kenai and Lavonne Walk of Yakima, Wash. and many other friends who helped care for her.
In lieu flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Central Peninsula or Alaska Mental Health Trust.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
