Lifelong Alaskan resident Phillip “Aaron” LaFleur Jr. died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, at home. He was 26.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at Peninsula Memorial Chapel, 5839 Kenai Spur Highway. Visitation will be held at noon. Brent Elkington will officiate. A gathering will immediately follow at the Palm residence on Mackey Lake Road.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Palm, Jesse Wearly, James Musgrove, Zebediah Carpenter, Wesley King, and Joshua Hunt.
Mr. LaFleur was born Feb. 9, 1980, in Soldotna. He attended school in Soldotna and graduated the Alaska Military Youth Core with honors.
“He enjoyed snowboarding, fishing and snowmachining. He participated in activities such as the Kenai Peninsula Fight Challenge. Aaron loved his life spending memorable times with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed,” his family said.
Mr. LaFleur was preceded in death by his mother, Vicki Lynn LaFleur; uncles, Thomas Loren Palm and Ronnie LaFleur; aunt, Mary “Angela” LaFleur; and grandparents, Ronald and Wanda LaFleur.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Phillip LaFleur Sr. and Rebecca Baker; sisters, Aleasha, Andraya and Gracelyn LaFleur; significant other, Emmy King; children, Ryker and Taylor King; great-grandmothers, Nora Palm and Marianne Fischer; grandparents, Penelope and Rick Cheek and Robert Palm; stepfather, Brent Elkington; uncles and aunts, Ronald and Tracy Palm, Milton Estes, Christiana Angela Guccione, Patricia and Stephanie LaFleur, Noi Palm and Melinda and Bruce Hershberger; niece, Cheyanna Lynn Hutchings; nephew, Blaine Michael Wearly; cousins, Tiffany and Courtney Palm, Emery, Timothy and Naomi Palm, Alexandra Estes, Rhonda and Barney Phillips and Brett and Marie Hershberger; second cousins, Asher Phillips, Trinity Palm, Tori and Trista Burke; and other family members, Kenneth and Timothy Miller.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
