Christmas service today

A children’s Christmas service, “Emmanuel, God with us,” will be held at 11 a.m. today at Star of the North Lutheran Church, 216 N. Forest Drive in Kenai. A potluck will follow the service. It is open to the public.

Youth program set

North Star United Methodist Church will present a children and youth Christmas program, “On Our Way to Bethlehem,” at 6 p.m. today. Refreshments and a bonfire will follow the program. For more information, call Laura Skiba at 776-8732.

Ninilchik potluck slated

The annual Ninilchik Community Christmas potluck and play, “The Case of the Missing Meaning” will be held at at 5:45 p.m., today at the Ninilchik Fairgrounds. Community members are asked to bring their favorite dish to share.

Kids crafts offered

North Peninsula Recreation Service Area will hold an arts, crafts and gym festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center. Children in grades one through six may attend. For more information, call 776-8800.

Boys and Girls club open for holidays

The Boys and Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula, Kenai Clubhouse will be open 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Dec. 29 (except Dec. 25). Youth are asked to bring a sack lunch daily. Santa comes to Soldotna

Peninsula Center Mall merchants will host Santa at the following times through Christmas: from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Photos will be available and profits will be donated to Love, INC.

Swimming classes available

Kenai Central High School pool will offer level two and three Red Cross swim lessons Jan. 9 through Feb. 8. There will be 10 days of 40 minute lessons that will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays. Parents will need to sign up and pay in advance at the pool. For more information, call 283-7476.
