Car seat checkup slated

Developmental screenings slated

Frontier Community Services will hold free developmental screening clinic for newborns through 3-year-old children from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at its office at 43335 Kalifornsky Beach Road, Suite 26 in the Red Diamond Center, next to Tarma Grooming. Hearing and vision tests also will be conducted.

Ham classes proposed

The Moose Horn Amateur Radio club is considering putting on ham radio classes. Interested community members are asked to e-mail WA7B@AOL.COM or call 394-2907 or 262-9674 and leave a name and phone number.

If there is enough response the club will set up a time and place for classes.

Classes will be one evening a week for six to eight weeks. Topics will include electrical theory and safety, frequency allocations, Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules, and modes of operation.

Caregivers to meet

The National Family Caregivers Support Program will host meeting a caregiver peer support meeting will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 30 at the Soldotna Senior Citizens Center.

Nancy Mitchell's State Farm office is gearing up for the 2009 Soldotna Safety Days event May 16.
