Christmas concert today

Grandma's Hope Notes will perform a Christmas concert at the Kenai Senior Citizens Center today at 11 a.m.

Friends of the Library to meet today

The Kenai Friends of the Library will meet today at 5:30 p.m. at the Kenai Community Library.

String trio to perform Wednesday

The Midnight Sun String Trio will perform two holiday concerts in Soldotna on Wednesday. The first will be at noon at the Blazy Mall, and the second at 2 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Mall.

911 board meets Thursday

The 911 Advisory Board will meet at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday in the Kenai Peninsula Borough Building. It is open to the public. For more information, call 262-4910.

Snowplowing guidelines

The Kenai Peninsula Borough Public Works Department reminds residents that snow may not be pushed or deposited onto a roadway in any manner that causes a hazard to traffic.

Parents also are reminded not to allow children to play in snow piles or berms near roadways, since snow removal equipment operators may have difficulty seeing them.

Mount Marathon race designs sought

The Seward Chamber of Commerce is seeking designs for the 2001 Mount Marathon race. Designs are sought for T-shirts, pins and finishers' patches.

DAV to meet Thursday

CARTS board meeting canceled

The Central Area Rural Transit System advisory partners meeting will not be held this month. The next regular meeting will be Jan. 10.

Young Marines recruits sought

The Alaska Young Marines are accepting applications for its next boot camp, which begins Jan. 16. It is open to boys and girls ages 8 to 18.

There will be a presentation to parents of prospective Young Marines recruits at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Elks Lodge in Soldotna. For more information, call 262-9264.
