'Tis the night before Christmas,
And all through the house,
The only ones sleeping
Are my kids and my spouse.
The stockings are hung
The tree is all lit
The last cookie baked,
I think I'll just sit!
I reflect on this year
The days that have past,
The things we have done,
My, Time goes by fast!
Our children are sleeping
Warm in their beds,
While visions of Santa
And Toys dance in their heads.
I raise up from my chair,
And go to each room.
I kiss each cheek with care
And say, "Sleep. He'll be here soon."
The cookies and milk
Are set by the fire
I stifle a yawn,
Ready to retire.
I head to my bed
Ready to sleep
Tomorrow will be busy
With promises to keep
I take a moment to pray
And Thank God for my life
For the privilege of being
A mother and Wife.
