Christmas services planned for Sunday

Peninsula Christian Center will conduct Christ-mas services Sunday at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., featuring special music and an interactive Christmas message.

A potluck will follow with the drama team presenting a special selection from "The Edge."

On Wednesday, Peninsula Christian will conduct its Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m. with traditional and contemporary music for all ages. Among the participants are Mike Lyons and Brandon Newbould of Messiah College, and Todd and Rachelle Grimmer.

The center is behind The Salvation Army store on the Kenai Spur Highway in Soldotna.

Musical extravaganza featured

A musical variety show, "Christmas Extrava-ganza," will be presented at 6 p.m. Sunday at Abundant Life Assembly of God in Sterling.

At the church's 11 a.m. service, Pastor Bob Reasner will speak on "What He Came To Do."

Choir to present cantata

The Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ will celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with a praise and worship service at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, which will include a performance of the cantata, "The Way He Came," by the church choir. Other musical selections will be featured culminating with a special Christmas message.

The celebration continues with the annual "Birthday for Jesus" service at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Special choir creation presented

The Soldotna Bible Chapel choir will present "Welcome to Our World," created by Claire Cloninger and Robert Stering, at a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The community is invited to share in the special evening at the chapel, 300 W. Marydale Ave. The choir is under the direction of Gary Lindman.

Holy Communion celebrated

Christmas Eve services at St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal Church on the Kenai Spur Highway at Spruce Street in Kenai will include Holy Communion at a children's service at 7 p.m. Wednesday and a Holy Communion service at 11 p.m.

Christmas Eve services planned

Peninsula Grace Church will conduct Christmas Eve services at 7 and 11 p.m.

The earlier service will feature the Children's Choir presenting the Christmas story and favorite Christmas carols.

The second service will be a candlelight service featuring the Youth Choir presenting "City on a Hill Christmas."

Dessert will be served at both services. Peninsula Grace is at Mile 19.5 of Kalifornsky Beach Road. The community is invited.

Children present candlelight service

Children from preschool through high school will present a candlelight service titled, "What Child Is This," at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church, on Ciechanski Road one block off Kalifornsky Beach Road.

The service includes audience participation in singing carols, and a special Christmas gift will be given to all children after the service. Refreshments will be served.

On Christmas Day, a one-hour Christmas song and scripture festival will be conducted at 11 a.m. The public is invited.

Hanukkah party slated

MoAdim Messianic Fellowship invites all to a Hanukkah party Dec. 26 at 6 p.m. at the Kenai Merit Inn. The party will be in a new meeting room at the back of the building.

It will feature fun, food, candle lighting and a game of dreidel. The event is on the eighth night of Hanukkah and people are asked to bring a hanukkia and candles and some finger food to share. Everyone is welcome.
