Skyview finishes up in Kodiak
The Skyview basketball teams closed out the Joe Floyd Tournament in Kodiak on Saturday.
In a tough defensive struggle, the Panther girls came out on top against host Kodiak 27-20.
Skyview overcame a dismal 5 of 18 shooting from the foul line in a game that featured only 16 field-goals from both teams combined.
On the boys side, Skyview fell short to Kodiak 54-50 in a tight game.
The Panthers jumped to an early lead in the first quarter but couldn't hold on as host Kodiak came back to win behind 28 points from Zach Keplinger. Brian Blossom led Skyview in scoring with 15.
The Panther teams lost to the Sitka Wolves on Friday in Kodiak.
The Panther girls lost 49-31 against the Wolves despite having balanced scoring. Managing only nine points in the first half, the Panthers couldn't really find the scoring touch to match various 3-pointers from the Wolves.
The Panther boys fell short to the Wolves 69-59, despite a stellar fourth quarter. In the fourth, the Panthers racked up 27 points. Jeff Dolifika led the Panthers in scoring with 21 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter.
Host Kodiak also played Friday night.
The Kodiak girls dropped a close game to the South Anchorage Wolverines 38-32, while the Kodiak boys knocked off the Crescent Loggers of Washington, 63-31
