Community support on the ball

Posted: Monday, December 19, 2005

Over the first weekend of December, Cook Inlet Academy hosted the Borealis Conference Volleyball Tournament. Teams from 10 different schools came and played an excellent tournament.

As always, a tournament runs well because of the behind-the-scene work of many. Major thanks go out to Jeannie McNutt, the tournament director. Additional thanks go to all who helped, including Arlyan Minogue, Zetta Byrd, Carman Franchino, Lori Brown, Brianna Leman, Ducia Fefelov, Tina Fefelov, Nita Larson, Becky Dwinnell, Arleene Gibbons, Lisa Burkhart, Rhonda Orth, Laurel Kytonen, Roy McNutt, Robbyn Michel and Jill Johnson.

Many local businesses also helped with the tournament. We want to give special thanks to Coca-Cola Bottling for their generous donations to CIA for the tournament. Additional thanks go to other businesses that provided discounts for the traveling teams: Subway, Pizza Boys, McDonalds, Sals, Diamond M Ranch, King Salmon Restaurant, Harrys Restaurant, Bears Den, Odies, Grand Burrito, Frosos, China Sea, Riverside House, Acapulco Restaurant, Jersey Subs, Arbys, Don Joses and The Moose is Loose.
