Seniors host Christmas program, party

Ninilchik Senior Citizens Center will hold its annual Christmas program put on by area home-school children at 11:30 a.m. Thursday. It will be followed by the center’s noon meal. Lunch costs are $8 for nonmembers or $5 for members.

The center will host a Christmas party Friday after the noon meal. There will be a Chinese auction gift exchange. Everyone is encourage to bring a gift matching their gender, valued at $10. For more information, call Julie Welch at 567-3988.

Library plans 3-day closure

Soldotna Public Library will be closed in observance of Christmas from Saturday through Dec. 26. No items will be due on posted closure dates. The outside book drop will be available for returns. For more information, call 262-4227.

Masonic to install officers

The Kenai Masonic Lodge No. 11 will hold its installation of officers for Kenai Masonic at 6 p.m. Dec. 29. It is open to the public. Billy Harris is the new Worshipful Master. For more information, call 262-7284.

Community group seeking members

The Sterling Community Coalition Group will hold its first elections in February. There are nine directorships, three of which are up for election. Residents can join the the group by completing an application form. For more information, call Robert Wall at 260-6616 or Chris Thorn at 260-4148.

Search for pet photos continues

The Clarion’s My Best Friend pet photo pile is getting thin. Have you got a photo you’d like to share?

Photos can be color or black and white and should be no smaller than 3-by-5 inches. They may include people. Limit one photo per household. A brief explanation of the photo, the pet’s and owner’s names, owner’s address and phone number must be included.

Photos may be e-mailed to, dropped off at 150 Trading Bay in Kenai or mailed to the Clarion at P.O. Box 3009, Kenai, 99611. Only photos with an address written on the back will be returned.
