Cream cheese drop cookie

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, slightly

softened

3 ounces cream cheese,

slightly softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

Colored sugar, maraschino

cherry quarters for

decoration, optional

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixer bowl, cream butter with cream cheese.

Beat in sugar and vanilla. Gradually mix in flour.

Drop by spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. (Before baking, cookies may be sprinkled with colored sugar or decorated with maraschino cherry quarters.)

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until tops are slightly browned.

Makes about 3 dozen cookies, depending on drop.
