Former Sterling resident T.H. Auldridge passed away Sept. 29,, 2010, in Paris, Texas. He was 85.
Mr. Auldridge was born July 22, 1925, in Brookston, Texas. He married Melba Dean Stone, June 12, 1947, building 50 years of family and memories before her death on August 2, 1997.
The Auldridges moved the family from Texas to Ninilchik in 1958. In early 1960's Mr. Auldridge worked for Standard Oil Company and years later moved to Sterling where he retired in 1980 from Chevron Oil Company at Swanson River. The following year the Auldridges moved back to Texas.
Besides his wife, Mr. Auldridge was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Charlie, Bill and Emory Auldridge; and one granddaughter, Amanda.
Survivors include three daughters; Martha Collard and husband Thomas of, Longview, Texas; Wanda Holzer and husband Jerry, of Azle, Texas; and Linda Herr, of Longview, Texas; one son, Dale Auldridge and wife Gina, of Wasilla, Alaska; one sister, Mary Ellen Holloway and husband Dennis, of Frankston, Texas; three brothers; Ralph Auldridge and wife Hazel, of Paris, Texas; Doug Auldridge and wife Fonda, of Omaha, Texas; and Thomas Auldridge, of Paris, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A funeral was held Oct. 5, 2010, and Mr. Auldridge was laid to rest at Roxton, Texas, cemetery. Arrangements were by Bright-Holland Funeral Home, Paris Texas.
