Anchor Point Chamber hosts Rep. Phillips
The guest speaker at today's Anchor Point Chamber of Commerce luncheon will be Rep. Gail Phillips, R-Homer, who will give an update on her plans for the future.
The chamber also will hold its drawing for a turkey fryer, with propane tank and turkey. The lunch will be held at the Anchor River Inn at noon. The public is invited to attend.

String trio to entertain in Soldotna today
The Midnight Sun String Trio will perform two holiday concerts in Soldotna today. At noon, they will be at the Blazy Mall, and will move to the Peninsula Center Mall at 2 p.m.
Christmas play in Ninilchik Friday
A community potluck and Christmas play will be presented at the Ninilchik Fair building at 6 p.m. Friday in Ninilchik. The play, "The Plane Truth about Christmas," and the musical performance "The Flame," will be presented with accompaniment by the local choir.

Firewood area open
The Funny River Road firewood area on the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge is now open for personal use firewood cutting. There also are a number of long, small-diameter, fire-killed spruce that would make good fence poles. Wood cutters must get a permit from the refuge office before heading into the woods.
