ANCHORAGE (AP) -- The state dental board reinstated the license of Anchorage dentist Leeland Cho Wednesday night, before suspending it again an hour later saying he was professionally incompetent.
A hearing officer had recommended that Cho's license be reinstated because the board did not cite the statutes and regulations Cho violated when his license was summarily suspended. The board first suspended Cho's license Dec. 7, saying he posed a clear and immediate danger to public safety.
During its Wednesday meeting, the board took the hearing officer's recommendation, reinstating Cho's license, before suspending it again.
During the second suspension action, the board cited statutes and regulations that Cho allegedly violated, including rules that punish dentists for engaging in practices that don't meet minimum professional standards, misrepresenting themselves to obtain a license and advertising their dental services in misleading or false ways.
