WASHINGTON (AP) -- The federal government will send nearly $250,000 to four Alaska fire departments in the form of grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the United States Fire Administration.
The money is to support fire protection, prevention programs, the delivery of emergency medical services and vehicle purchases.
The Talkeetna fire service area will receive $41,700. Gustavus Emergency Response will receive $33,000.
The McGrath Volunteer Fire Department will receive $58,000 and the Hoonah Volunteer Fire Department will receive $117,300.
