Nikiski seniors to elect board

Nikiski Senior Citizens will conduct their annual general membership meeting after lunch Wednesday at the senior center.

Agenda topics include voting on next year’s board members and a senior housing update from James McConnell and Sundance Construction. For more information, call Leigh at 776-7654.

Food Bank lists holiday closures

The Kenai Peninsula Food Bank will be closed Friday and Jan. 2 in observance of the holidays.

The food bank is selling T-shirts printed with the saying, “We Feed People.” For more information, T-shirt prices and a complete listing of programs the food bank has to offer, call 262-3111.

Red Cross offers first aid classes

The American Red Cross of Alaska will conduct a first-aid class from 6 to 10 p.m. Dec. 28 and 29.

The class, which covers adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation, infant and child CPR, AED and basic first-aid, requires two evenings for completion. To register, call 283-4556.

Junior Iditarod entry fee help offered

The Tustumena 200 Sled Dog Race board has money available to help with Junior Iditarod entry fees for Kenai Peninsula mushers who qualify. For more information and eligibility rules, interested mushers may visit, write to P.O. Box 220, Kasilof AK 99610 or call 398-7591.
