Kenai resident Helen I. McAleenan died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, of natural causes at her home. She was 49.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Ms. McAleenan's ashes will be scattered at the Russian River.
Ms. McAleenan was born Nov. 11, 1955, to James D. and Helen S. Brown in Glasgow, Scotland. She moved to Kenai in 1996.
"Helen was a very warm hearted and caring woman. She cared for everyone who entered her life and cried when they left. When she gave of herself, she gave from her heart and gave all. Her ambition was to confront and overcome barriers that she faced. She loved working with animals, doing her crafts, but most of all, she loved her fianc, Mike. She adored SuHana and will be missed by her devoted dog, Toby," her family said.
Helen is survived by her fianc, Michael Lattimer; sons, Jeff and Tim McAleenan; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Magdalene McAleenan; extended family, Ray and Brenda Firman, Jamey Russell, Coda Russell, Brittany Russell, SuHana Firman, Nancy Farrington and Patsy Stringer.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
