Community dinner held on Christmas Day

The second annual Community Christmas Dinner will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Monday at Bubba's restaurant in Nikiski.

Clinic closes next week

The Homer Public Health Clinic will not have an Immunization Clinic on Tuesday and Thursday.

Completed surveys needed

Residents of the Anchor River, Stariski Creek and Happy Valley Creek watersheds are reminded that the Community Rivers Planning Coalition is conducting a community survey. Mail in completed surveys by Dec. 31 to be eligible for a $200 cash prize.

The winning number will be selected at the Community Rivers Planning Coalition meeting held Jan 4. at Chapman School.

Mount Marathon race designs sought

The Seward Chamber of Commerce is seeking designs for the 2001 Mount Marathon race. Designs are sought for T-shirts, pins and finishers' patches.

Gift ideas to help all

The Kenai Peninsula Food Bank is conducting its annual mail appeal, sending brochures in the mail that define the needs of the food bank. Funds are in desperate need around the holiday season.

Also, the food bank is displaying Tupperware for Christmas gifts. Fifty percent of all pieces sold through the food bank will go toward those in need of food on the peninsula.

Center to provide for those in need

The Independent Living Center will put together a Community Closet to provide those with disabilities with equipment at a low cost. The center is looking for donations of wheelchairs, walkers and equipment for vision and hearing impairments.
