ANCHORAGE (AP) -- The University of Alaska has reached a tentative collective bargaining agreement with the Alaska Higher Education Crafts and Trade Employees Local 6070.

The union represents about 260 workers around the state, including plumbers, carpenters, power plant employees, custodians and maintenance service workers.

The current contract is due to expire Dec. 31.

Michael Hostina, UA director of labor relations, said details of the tentative agreement will be available after formal approval by union members and the UA Board of Regents.
