Christmas Eve musical planned

The First Baptist Church of Kenai will present the musical "Celebrate Life" at 7 p.m. today at the church at 12518 Kenai Spur Highway in Kenai. Another show is scheduled for Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. at Soldotna First Baptist Church. For more information, call 283-7672.

Santa Claus comes to peninsula

Santa Claus will be at the Peninsula Center Mall today from 1 to 6 p.m. For more information, call 260-2663.

Public Health Center closed

There will be no immunization clinic today at the Kenai Public Health Center and the offices will be closed Tuesday and Jan. 1. In addition, clinics scheduled for Jan. 7, 9 and 10 have been canceled. For more information, call 332-3400.

Visitors center closes for holidays

The Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center will be closed today, Tuesday, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. It will reopen for regular hours Jan. 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Food donations needed

The Kenai Peninsula Food Bank is in need of turkeys, hams and trimmings for distribution during the holidays. Surplus donations will be used for holiday baskets for needy families. Donations are tax deductible and can be left at the food bank from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Toys needed for Christmas collection

The United States Marine Corps and Arctic Young Marines are accepting toy donations for the Share the Spirit organization, which will distribute them to Kenai Peninsula families.

Donation boxes are located at the Am Vets, American Legion, VFW, Vets Center in the Red Diamond Center, Big Kmart and Fred Meyer.
