Greetings from the kids

Posted: Tuesday, December 24, 2002

Another holiday tradition at the Peninsula Clarion is the publication of Christmas greetings from Kenai Peninsula children.

The kids' letters, drawings, poems, stories and Christmas wish lists are bound to bring a smile and a realization that kids do know the reason for the season.

As 6-year-old Sahfia Lan Hoogland writes: "Christmas is not all about getting presents. It is about Jesus' birthday and getting together with friends, sharing and having a joyful day."

Or, as 8-year-old Jessica Wall writes: "I wish that there is peace, love and harmony in the world. I wish that everyone will be with their friends and family. I wish that everyone will have presents. But most of all I wish that everyone will have peace and love in their hearts."

Don't let the Grinch steal your Christmas joy. Take some time to enjoy the meaning of the holiday through the eyes of the peninsula's children. Our hope is that all the Christmas dreams contained in the pages of this special section will become reality.

Because of the vast number of submissions received for the holiday greetings section, not all of them could be printed. However, all entries can be found on the Clarion's Web site:

A peaceful and safe holiday to all of our readers.
