Flooding advisory continues

Posted: Monday, December 24, 2007

Despite slightly warmer temperatures over the weekend, the National Weather Service small stream flood advisory for the Big Eddy area of the Kenai River near Soldotna will be in effect until 4 p.m. today.

Last week's subzero temperatures created minor ice jam flooding along the Big Eddy area of the Kenai River prompting the weather service to issue an advisory on Friday.

Even though the advisory will be lifted this afternoon, the weather service warns residents along the river to be prepared to respond if ice jams do form.
