The Kenai Senior Bellringers will perform at 11 a.m. Thursday at Kenai Community Library.
Youth New Year’s party slated
A New Year's Eve party for youth in grades seven through 12 will be held from 7 p.m. Sunday to 1 a.m. Monday at the Challenger Learning Center of Alaska in Kenai. Live music and refreshments will be available. The cost is $2 per person. For more information, call 283-5060.
Youth volleyball, basketball offered
North Peninsula Recreation Service Area will offer co-ed volleyball for youth in grades four through six. The registration deadline is Jan. 10.
Seventh- and eight-grade interleague basketball also will be offered. Deadline to register is Jan. 12.
Cancer fundraiser sets high goals
Cancer Survivors on Mount Aspiring board of directors will present a slide show, refreshments and music at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 19 at Kenai Middle School. In addition, the school's climbing wall will be open to the public from 3 to 6:30 p.m.
Bob Hempstead, an accomplished climber will present the slide show. Proceeds will benefit children attending cancer camps. Tables for local students Gabe Boyle and Ericka Reynolds, battling cancer will be set up to receive donations. For more information, visit www.aspiring2007.org.
Reading carnival seeks vendors
The fourth annual Peninsula Reading Carnival will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 17 in the Soldotna Middle School gym. Applications for booths at the event will be accepted until Jan. 15. Booths cost $25 for businesses or $10 for non-profit organizations. Proceeds will benefit literacy projects.
