Former Soldotna resident Carla Jean Cutting died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, in Nowata, Okla. She was 49.
Services were held Dec. 19 in Oklahoma.
Mrs. Cutting was born Oct. 5, 1952, in Olean, N.Y., to Kenneth A. and Deloris J. (Foster) Blade. She graduated from high school in Olean in 1970 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in business administration at the State University of New York at Fredonia in 1974. She married Glenn Cutting on Aug. 23, 1975, in Olean. Also in 1975, she entered the U.S. Army and received her honorable discharge and good conduct medal in 1978. In 1987, she earned a master's degree in education at Adams State College in Alamosa, Colo.
During her time in Alaska, Mrs. Cutting worked as a librarian for the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Media Center in Soldotna and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Soldotna.
Mrs. Cutting is survived by her husband, Glenn, of Nowata; two sons, Sean E. Cutting of Weymouth, Mass., and Jason A. Cutting of Anchorage; and two daughters, Carie J. Cutting and Tara L. Cutting, both of Nowata.
A memorial has been established, and those who wish to make a contribution in memory of Carla Cutting may do so to the Cancer Society c/o Kathy Leeper, P.O. Box 1094, Bartlesville, Okla. 74005 or to the charity of the donor's choice
Funeral arrangements were made by Stumpff-Nowata Funeral Home in Nowata.
