Kenai Borough Mayor Williams celebrates Inaugural
When John Williams was mayor of the City of Kenai he spearheaded a team that went against all odds to bring a Challenger Learning Center to Alaska. The Challenger Center was the site where newly elected Kenai Peninsula Borough Mayor John Williams chose to celebrate his new office last week. “These projects that we put together are truly for the benefit of the entire community, and just as I did when I was Mayor of the City, I expect to operate the same way at the Borough. This is an exciting and very busy time to become Borough Mayor,” said Williams.
Mayor Williams took the occasion of his inaugural party to share some good news about what has become his first community project as Borough Mayor, “The Arctic Winter Games is an international event sponsored by the United States of America and played out right here in Alaska as the host state and we’re proud to announce tonight some significant contributions that will make our Games a great success,” said Williams.

Additionally the KSRM radio group, one of our first sponsors, is contributing an additional $25,000 in-kind,” said Popp.
“I think the word is out that we are in need of support and the community is responding in a positive way that makes us all proud to be associated with this event and the spirit of the north,” said AWG General manager Tim Dillon.
