Greetings from a festive Kasilof.
I hope your Christmas was a happy and memorable occasion. Like many, I am basking in the post-holiday glow of a warm family experience and coasting into a new year with the optimistic visions of a youngster.
Well, I think we all know just how long that will last, maybe until work on Monday or when the January bills hit the mail.
All kidding aside, our family had a great Christmas and is looking forward to a happy new year.
The Kasilof Public Library newly arrived titles are "Double Shot," by Diane Mott Davidson, and "Silenced," by Jerry B. Jenkins, plus various books on tape.
Library cards are free and easy to get. Stop by Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:30 to 6 p.m. For all your library information, call 252-1120 weekdays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
These Kasilof girls are celebrating a birthday this week: Ashley Halverson and Amanda Hudson.
Happy 10th anniversary to my husband, Fritz, on Saturday.
Chances are you'll be attending a New Year's celebration where alcohol will be served.
Make sure you think before you drink. If you imbibe, arrange for a designated driver, a room or cab transportation from your party. To quote our Alaska State Troopers: "You drink, you drive, you lose." Have fun, but not too much of it.
Have a great New Year's Eve. See you next year.
