Masonic to install officers

The Kenai Masonic Lodge No. 11 will hold its installation of officers for Kenai Masonic at 6 p.m. today. It is open to the public. Billy Harris is the new Worshipful Master. For more information, call 262-7284.

Library plans holiday closure

Soldotna Public Library will be closed Monday in observance of New Year’s Day. No items will be due on the posted closure date. The outside book drop will be available for returns. For more information, call 262-4227.Swim lessons offered

Beginner and advanced beginner swim lessons will be offered from Tuesday to Jan. 19, at the Nikiski pool. The deadline to sign up for the Tuesday lesson set is 4 p.m. Friday.

DEC gets cooking with class

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation is offering a food safety training class from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kenai Central High School.

The class is part of a food safety program designed by Alaska DEC to assure safe food handing. It is for anyone who prepares food for the public.
