AWG hockey tryouts slated

Arctic Winter Games Team Alaska tryouts in the sport of boys’ Bantam and Midget ice hockey are scheduled for Jan. 15 at the Soldotna Sports Center. Athletes who are selected at these tryouts will be part of Alaska’s 377-person delegation to the 2006 Arctic Winter Games, scheduled for March 5-11 on the Kenai Peninsula.

Bantam tryouts are open to players born 1991 or later, and Midget tryouts are open to players born 1988 or later. Tryouts for Bantams will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Midgets take the ice right after the Bantams, and try out from 2:45 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
